The first marathon to take place in Irbid and the North as part of Run Jordan’s efforts to spread the culture of running as a sport and leisure activity that all Jordanians can participate in by organizing running events in various governorates around the Kingdom, will be the Irbid Marathon. Scheduled in May 2015, the Irbid Marathon will consist of two races 10 Km race and 5 Km race. Irbid was chosen as the pilot activity to promote its rich cultural heritage and scenic environment; runners will enjoy the lovely spring weather as they run along the beautiful streets of Irbid and engage with its hospitable residents. Through organizing competitive running events in various governorates, Run Jordan is keen on promoting the touristic and cultural aspect of the society; participants in the Irbid Marathon will have a chance to visit neighboring tourist attractions such as Um Qais and spend a fun entertaining day in Jordan’s wilderness....
